In the world of floor cleaning machines, the walk behind floor scrubber models
identify those which are operated with your feet on the ground. These machines,
also called pedestrian scrubber-dryers, are operated by the user who stands
behind the unit and holds the handle to guide the scrubbing machine while
walking along behind it.
There are walk behind floor scrubbers with and without traction. For the
scrubber-dryers without traction (also known as self-driven or brush driven) the
rotation of the scrubbing brush drives the machine forward, while for the machines
with a drive motor, the forward speed can be changed and controlled from the handle.
